For nearly the past 6 years, I've been doing work at a small, rural ISP in northeast Nebraska. While my time here has been rewarding and I've learned a lot, it has also taken a toll on my health and sanity. For the past 2 years, I've been searching for a new job to get me away from here. Several things prompted this. One being that as of right now, our company has been thru 4 IT admins. Another reason is due to a constant threat to close the company if we don't make enough money. Another being distance issues from home (10+ hours) or being able to afford going home. And within those 2 years of searching, the furthest I ever got was just an interview. Nothing else.

Well, after having 2 phone interviews in June and one in person interview in July, on July 31st, I was offered a job with a company that would end up being only 6 hours from home. And I would be moving from a town of 1,600 to a city of about 50k. The time with my current company will end this Friday, August 15th. I'll be moving out and to the new place the weekend of the 22nd with my new job starting the 25th. It's corporate, yet a family owned business. I'm excited to start this new chapter in my life.
