Have you heard of Mr. Williams?

I've heard a great deal about Robin's death, but very little about Ms. Bacall's. I was surprised that no one else had written a journal about it. Though maybe she wasn't well known to a lot of the people here because her real heyday was way before they were born.

Well a lot of people notice Robin Williams more because, as a kid, he did a few great movies I've seen. Aladdin, Hook... Basically a childhood memory.

Granted, he was much better known at this time. Still there are plenty of people, like myself, who knew her work and revered her also. I'm just surprised at how little notice seems to have been taken at her passing.

Has she done any particular roles?

Yeah, she did a lot of voice work. Especially as she got older.

I hadn't heard about her death until yesterday. :(

Yeah. There just wasn't much press about it. Robin William's death has really overshadowed her passing. So sad! Two of the greats lost in so short a time.

Yeah, I suppose because of the suicide angle as well as his roles during my lifetime. Still, I'm quite surprised I hadn't heard. At least she had a long life.

Yeah, and according to her IMDB page she was involved in a film at the time she died. Worked right up to her death.

Bummer. I hope they can finish it without her. :(

IDK. The last update was back in 2012. I'm not sure it's even still filming.

Someone once told me this is how you know you're getting old, when everyone you knew in your childhood starts dying. (Cheerful person that!)

Can't remember where, but I also heard that celebrities seem to go in threes, so I'm kind of wary of who's next...

Most of the people I grew up watching are really, really old now or already gone. The great stars of the 50s and 60s. What really gets to you is when the people who are dying are younger than you! I didn't know Robin Williams was younger than me.

Everything seems to go in 3s. So yeah......

Hmmm....I'm not sure exactly why but until very recently I had you pegged as being under 20. Then I saw a comment you made somewhere (I can't remember where just now) that indicated you had more life experience than would be possible for someone that young. So I had to up my estimate of your age. At least I can stop thinking of you as a kid now. I tend to think of anyone under 30 as being a kid these days.

I can't remember. I wish I could. I THINK it was something about some job you've had or something like that. Made me think you needed some schooling beyond high school. Maybe some college or vocational training to be able to hold the job?

And HELL YESSSSSSS!! Being a kid at heart counts more than anything. I know I am one! My favorite story. My father's mother....who happened to be my favorite relative of all time....used to act all childish and young even into her 80's. My father once remarked to her that he thought she was in her 2nd childhood. She immediately replied that she wasn't! She'd never left her 1st one!!! That's the viewpoint I aim for!
