Just watch it. It's CPPGrey, and it's full of a shocking amount of truth. Basically, latest breakthroughs not in just technology itself, but new applications could threaten a wide variety of jobs, potentially making unemployment skyrocket in the coming years. Not because people are lazy, or stupid, but just because they're not needed.

For example jobs that deal with humans self. Like psychologists.
They would need to make androids that are so perfectly seen as humans that you can't see the difference, unless you want a blood sample, before those would have success on such a workfield.
And then are that economies not develop in a global scale equally. Alone Africa, the most resource rich continent, is still the most poor (if seen on population). Someone might whisper now "Elysium"... ;3
The point is that automation will reach those parts on Earth much slower.
Might take a time, like a century or two, before they are on the standard, that we have now.
Everyone already self-diagnoses with their cellphones. If they made a bot that told you that you were indeed a special snowflake, it would sell like hotcakes.
Also, what's the point. Why should I care if Africa gets fucked by this later if Africa is already fucked another way?
I guess it's the contrast in sexiness from the perspective of the media and forums of human discourse in general. It's a hoot and a holler to pit arch-capitalist right libertarian types against populist social democrats and spice it up with a bit of racial tension for just that right combination of identity and class politics. With advancing tech, though, nobody seems interested in expressing concern for a forthcoming social or culture shock for fear of looking like every other asshole in the past who irrationally feared new tools and methods or was otherwise just old and uncool about it.
