ouch had mine pulled many years ago, so damn annoying. Just have to be careful with eating or drinking hot or cold.

Make sure to keep it clean - nothing more painful than a "dry socket" - and after about a week - gargle warm water with a little salt - it will toughen up the gumline and help it heal - cold compresses and ibuprofen help keep down the inflammation as well.

Yes Ibuprophen even worked better for me than the pain meds they prescribed, and didn't make me sick....Also...NEVER use a straw, until the wound is sealed good....I think they told me 10 days! (The vacuum pulls the clots out of the sockets....Bad News)

100% in a week? LOL! I got removed 3 wise bandits and the nerve took like 6 months to cure. And I do suggest you not eat hard food for at least one month. I know this in the painful way.

YIKES! Well I am using semi-solid food right now but yes nothing hard and crunchy for a while longer fur sure.

Your gum will need more than a week for close and start to fill space left by the tooth, so why avoid things hard like nuts, or hard point things like doritos.

It took me that time since 2 tooth were "drilling oil in the jaw" and messed up some of the nerves of skull.
