Considering your situation, I would believe so. People will tend to lose a lot of watchers due to absence. Hell, I stopped posting for a year on inkbunny before coming back and I can tell difference in response to my work.

I don't really know why that site specifically is such a magnet for cub porn. But I've noticed that a lot as well. Hence why I don't normally go there.

It's the main migration site that actually allowed the content after it was banned here. So...cub haven of sorts.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've always seen Inkbunny as a backup plan, for the times that FA broke.

Now that Weasyl exists, I'd suspect that folks who feel like I do, are using that as their backup plan now. (I probably would have done the same, but some bugger's already taken my name there.)

It's a beautifully built site with amazing features. Content is the only thing that sets it back. With the majority of people being cub porn fans, non cub artists will find it a hard place to establish at first unless they're extremely talented or draw cub porn/sonic/ or whatever popular thing that's already there.

Yep, pretty much. I try not to discourage myself by thinking about it too hard but today it's just become to blatant that I just can't ignore it.

I left there. I hate the idea of seeing cub art and the fact I don't get a lot of recognition there. Honestly, my backups for FA would be Weasyl or SoFurry.

Weasly was my second...I think I may start posting more often again. It's a really good site and shouldn't be ignored.

i use it, cub gets more attention by far. that or they use both sites fa n ib, and focus on different images based on the location.

The problem with inkbunny is the fact that it is almost entirely cub based... but it is that way because no one else will bother to use it. Which is partly out of protest against the cub artwork.
I honestly wish more people would use it. It's so much better than FA.

The problem is that the whole kerfluffle about it on FA was because their system of accepting donations dropped them due to the cub content, and they were having a difficult time finding a new company that would pick them up. Since FA hosts adult content, most places that will allow that don't appreciate underaged porn and weren't willing to work with FA until they got rid of the cub stuff.

It's a excellent site and I tried to not let the cub bother me too much when I started posting over there. Maybe if more people did start posting other content than cub, it could clear up the ongoing cluster of cub porn everywhere on the site...but that ain't happening no time soon.

A thing that might make you feel like you doesn't grab much attention is that you have already a fanbase here, people on other sites doesn't necessarily know you and your work and those already watching you on Furaffinity won't find the need to watch your account over Inkbunny.


I'm not an artist but I actually have more views and favorites on Inkbunny than on Furaffinity. When I post something on FA, no matter what time it is, it get drowned with other pictures in not even a minute.

So yes, there is a lot less users on IB but I personally prefer Inkbunny. I think the interface, commenting system, privates messages and posting submissions are better than FA and being able to block any keywords you want is also a great feature (You don't want to see cub, gore and/or watersport? You can simply block them and will never see that again!).

I know that people won't know me or my work on IB and I really wouldn't have a need to tell them to watch me there if there's not exclusive content I'm giving for only IB. I do enjoy the features but the ongoing feeling that whatever amount of work I put into something will more than likely be over shadowed by baby penis irks me. I'm indifferent about the content; it's the popular recognition that sometimes gets me.

I post there but the traffic is far lower than the FA site. However, it's still higher (for me) than weakly, tumblr, pivot or hentai foundry, so I'll continue posting, and ignoring what I can.

Yeah, traffic here is pretty much higher for me as well. Amazingly enough, I get more on IB than on my second go to gallery weasly.

I like using IB, and so I'm rather disappointed that it is such a cub-art magnet. I'm not into cub stuff either, and it overshadows the other things IB has to offer and really turns people off, which is such a shame. It has other things going for it that I appreciate.

Most notably, it allows artists to upload full-size images that are MUCH larger than what FA allows, so many times if an artist wants to upload their original, full-size image as they drew it, you can see it in all its glory, unmodified and unmolested. FA's upload image size limits are much lower and it will scale oversized images down, and often it does the scaling poorly. I've also noticed more than a few images on FA have their colors adjusted too (usually washed out) compared to the same image cross-posted on IB; this is most noticeable on dark and/or shadowy pics. I suspect that's also a facet of the software FA's using that does the image scaling. These two things in particular are why I look at IB.

Generally speaking, FA is still my primary site. All the artists I follow on IB (and on Weasyl, for that matter) are people I already watch on FA. I basically just signed up to Weasyl and IB and tried to mirror my FA watchlist as much as possible. Does mean a lot of duplicates and cross-posts, but hey, as mentioned, a lot of times I get to look at a much better picture on IB compared to how it ends up when posted on FA. :P

Rescaling through FA has a tendency to screw with the colors I believe. I think by clicking the download button, you may be able to get the full res version without the muck of resizing. I honestly haven't looked at the size limitation thing as a huge feature while comparing FA and IB. The features are my main concerns.

It was the Download size I was referring to. FA's "full size" Download image is much, much smaller than what IB allows, and FA will resize (and mess up colors of) even that Download image. Depending on what image size you work in and save, it can actually be impossible to upload the true "original" image to FA. Though I realize that's not necessarily that big an issue, since a lot of artists specifically do not want to upload their original file and instead make a smaller file specifically for putting in public galleries.

That was just an example that came to mind when I was writing the comment. There's plenty of other features I think IB does better than FA too. Probably a lot of that is just the fact that IB's newer and got to start with updated code from scratch, while FA's still working with old code that's harder to upgrade without breaking everything (which.. happens often enough already c.c).

There's actually a workaround for the full-res thing. If an artist submits an image and it is resized, they simply have to edit the submission file, submit the original full-res image, and viola, there it is! It's certainly not as streamlined as IB, but it's there.

Yeah, I dunno. I post to IB, Weasyl, and FA. Obviously I get more traffic on FA, but that's what inertia is. I really like IB better than both FA and Weasyl. I keep considering moving off of FA. Most of the folks I know are on Weasyl/IB, too, so I'd not really lose a whole lot (And I don't get all that many commissions anyway). I guess I'll keep thinking about it until something makes me just want to have nothing to do with FA. It's not hard to post to the three sites at the same time, so I'll just hedge my bets and make sure I'm available on all three sites in case something happens to any of them.

Like most people, the only thing keeping people here is the amount of traffic.I really haven't had any trouble with this site except for a few individuals who've landed on my block list. Other than that, it's rather quiet and peaceful.

the only reason i have it is to make it so art i get is taken down if i find it there, it's why i ask artists i commission to not post my art to IB as i don't support them due to them allowing cub porn

i'd protest FA's policies the same way too, but that'd be like committing artistic career suicide because of how many users are here

I can't say I feel the same way since I'm very desensitized to what I've seen while being here. And I can't say much about FA since i've really haven't had much trouble here or any concerns.

Just set up a schedule for posting your work for each site. Easiest thing you can do.

If you can ignore the content and use your block keywords feature, you'll pretty much be fine.

My girl is a pretty popular artist there. Well as far as the number of watchers and attention for IB compared to FA. I say this cause it seems like whenever we post art there it goes to the Popular section most of the time and that's how you get your lion share of the watchers, especially if you post another pic that gets to the popular page within the 3 day limit.
If you'd like to work with her to help you get a good leg up there I'll see if she'd like to do a collab commission or something with you, she's sleeping right now. She has a returning commissioner that is willing to pay very good money. We got to do a charity auction for a little while back http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5874078/ and when we got him there he bid 140 for work and 700 for work at the same time. We've done collab work before with and best customer was very eager to buy it, and it got into the Popular section in IB pretty much immediately, https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=662825 as you can see it's not cub, but it worked out.

Most work that gets in the popular section are there because they get a certain number of views (over 300 I believe). That's how I got a chunk of people watching me. That and posting multiple images in the same day. She does lovely work and I would love to see if we could do something in the future right now. Sometimes i do. ive been on inkbunny for twice as long as i have here and now i have almost 300 more watchers, i get more work here too.i hope one day IB becomes "less cub oriented" and just caters to general furry artist s alike but you would have to have a LOT of people push past the large pool of cub stuff to fix this issue which most people just dont want to or care to do.

i personally like inkbunny better as a site more than i like FA but i agree that its much esier to find people who like your work when you dont have a site full of people who wont even bother if the picture doesnt have a naked underaged chaacter OR you already have a huge fallowing that would fallow you to the ends of the earth.

Exactly. And I've read what people have put you through while over there. With people taking so much of a stand against inkbunny and calling it cub central, it'll be hard for people to want to move there.
