If I have understood it right shaggy is the most popular type on faux fur for suits. (often called luxury shag?) and is slightly shorter than Mongolian but keeps nice and soft and looks brushed longer

Mongolian can look matted and dirty unless you brush it constantly - so it's best used for small pieces that is supposed to be longer than the rest

My fursuit is made of trimmed shaggy fur and air brushed details. It looks a lot better. I rarely have to brush it out, but when I do, it looks amazing. Your best bet when it comes to buying a brush, you want to get a cat hair brush. The one that has wires on it.
