Probably the most diffcult questions to ask... The prices should start at what ever your last/current job paid you an hour for a bare sketch, least I'm told... Try not to go lower then that unless it's a special event/contests deal. Test the waters with it and see if you should adjust them any, typically look at small jumps over large ones. As to what type, that on it's own merit crashes on 'what's hip'. While triditional and basic commissions are still a thing, people are raving over stream art, pay what you want, emofuri, ych and donate to change charater commissions with less choice, more 'moist'. Honestly it's better to just work on a price point for now, and worry about what type later cause it's unstable as hell to pick one to focus on at the moment, just try to do alittle bit of everything you can.
