It's for those with ALS
which is one of the, if not THE most frightening diseases known to man
ALS is a disease that causes your motor nerves to gradually degenerate.
That means your brain can no longer send signals to your muscles to control them.
That means all voluntary muscle functions slowly stop functioning. This includes talking--and breathing.
The whole ice bucket thing is to raise awareness and money. It's already raised millions IIRC.
