factory restore.

sorry I haven't been here of late!! My computer wouldn't start anymore so I had to factory restore it..and naturally I lost everything EVEN THOUGH IT SAID IT WAS GOING TO SAVE MY PICTURES. Sigh.
So excuse my mess as I try to recover everything I lost! I'll get to messages in a sec, I'm having to re-install and download everything again.

You couldn't back them first up on a USB or external HDD? There's no way I'd risk doing a factory restore without first backing everything up. I back stuff up at least once a week in case the computer dies. Worst case scenario, check out file recovery software - I've used it before and managed to get most of my stuff back :)
