Whilst I've been staying with my boyfriend, we thought it would make a nice day out to visit the local dog and cat shelter, hopefully manage to walk some dogs or play with some kitties and show them a bit of love.
We've been planning to get a dog (eventually) but then we saw a gorgeous male Saluki, and being a rare breed to have in a shelter I suggested we could take him out for a walk.
He's very nervous, turns out he had been a stray so he was also very under weight poor little lad.
Then of course I gave my boyfriend the lead and he looked into the Saluki's eyes-next thing I know we're at the desk adopting him!!
He's now been named Loki and he's a real sweetie, with love food and training I think he'll be a wonderful addition to the family. (pics will be up soon as soon as I find my mobile).
SO EXCITING!
EDIT: I've seen another saluki stray in the shelter that we adopted Loki from! I don't know what sex this saluki is but it looks the same age as Loki only black and tan. I have a bas feeling i'm gonna be real broke this month lol.

It's nice to know that a nice day giving some animals some love turned into getting a new member of the Heavenly clan, heh n_n
(It sounds similar to when we got our Rottweiler/Doberman cross Roxie. Although we found her through Facebook and later found out that her previous owners had abused her. So I'm personally glad we rescued her from that...)

How've you been lately? Hope everything's going well for you and your family.
It's so sweet of you to be interested in Loki, I'm sorry to hear about your Roxie and that she had to suffer cruelty, it's a terrible thing but I'm glad your family managed to adopt her and give a better life.
I've been quite badly ill the last month, so not had a chance to get on here, it's that time of year when I usually get a horrible cold and have to stay in bed.
Aside from being bed bound for a while, I've been very busy lately.
New home, new dog, decorating, fixing the penetrating damp problem, furniture hunting, taking the cat to the vet numerous times, and trying to sort out my office to start making partials whilst I'm up here.
It's just chaotic lol!
....But rather enjoyable

I've been good thanks. I submitted my work for uni. Just waiting for my grade back now (Yikes!)
Also, my mum is doing better too. She's not in hospital anymore but she's not 100% yet. She's improving though which is great c:
It's sweet of you to include us in your life and now in Loki's life! ~I love it personally c: And yeah. I love Roxie the most, I think n_n Everyone else in the family finds her to be a bit annoying but I think she just has some issues and is just misunderstood. Maybe that's why we get on so well, heh. n_n' All in all, we're glad she's in a better environment, even if it's one she's not completely used to yet~
Sorry to hear you were so violently ill last month ._. If I had of known, I would've sent you so many good vibes, your boyfriend would be skipping around the house from all the energy n_n'
Unfortunately it's a similar time of year for me where I'm getting constant headaches and hardly any sleep. Yay, go us! x3 ~let's just turn this negativity into a club. That way, we'll feel better c:
