Mini-haitus for surgery
I'm kind of unexpectedly getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow so will likely be out of worthwhile action for a couple of days. I had a dental appointment this morning to check out a small swelling on my lower jaw where I had no wisdom tooth and the x-ray showed that I apparently have a giant fucking hole in my jaw which is "either a tumor or cyst" soooo they want to biopsy that tomorrow. On the plus side: being knocked out for that means I get to sneak my wisdom teeth at the same time under sedation. Woo..!
Dentist has also advised me against eating hard foods in case it causes a jaw fracture where the bone is weak. This minor swelling on the gum has been there for almost two years but my last dentist said it was probably just irritation from the wisdom tooth above it growing in, and to ignore it or get the wisdom tooth out if it got any worse. That's what I was expecting. The thought that all along it's been a growing cyst or tumor and he either missed it or didn't think to examine properly makes me unspeakably angry, so there's that.
I, uh, am a little shaken up (ANY dentistry work makes me nervous but big surgery ahahaha fuck) so was considering wiping my commission slate clean of any unpaid work so that it's not hovering over my head... but haven't decided 100% on that. Will see once I get the results back. Apologies in advance if that's what I decide to do but I hope you guys can understand. ♥

My one wisdom tooth is too close to the nerve whilst the other i had out whilst awake, they numbed it but it was still horrible as fuck feeling them grinding and mashing it up :/
As i said in Twitter, if you need an ear let me know, we've been through and beat cancer twice in this family.
But do make sure you leave the hole alone, with that nice protective blood-clot safe and undisturbed within it. Do that and you'll have no major trouble afterwards. I've tried the alternative and it ain't good.
I wish you all the best for your surgery and for a speedy recovery!
A few years ago I had a former dentist botch a large filling and it ended up damaging the nerve, causing pain so severe I couldn't sleep the night before I had the tooth pulled whilst awake. Worst experience of my entire life. I typically am worried to being put to sleep, but involving that sort of thing I am all for it. Hope everything goes well and that you recover quickly! My wisdom teeth were removed under sedation and I barely felt a thing afterwards, but mine came in normally and didn't require sophisticated surgery (I took them out for decay concerns). I think I used 1 pain pill and that was it. The important thing will be making sure you keep the holes clean and healthy as you heal up.
