patreon seems best if you have some kind of one of a kind gimmick that is really popular. on FA, the last I checked the comedy themed web show "the bedfellows" currently get about 1,500 per each finished episode which incentivizes them to put more time into it and put more out faster. I think they promised to do one web episode a month if they stay over 1,000. I'd have to check, but that seems about right.

I haven't made one yet because the things I want to do are more 1-off type of things, and I'd probably have to do things like more animations to make sure I stand out enough. Plus I don't want to start cashing in on the credibility I've built up yet. I've never asked fans for anything, so I figure they'd be more receptive to my needs in an emergency/one big project than if I was always "passing the hat around" so to speak. That's just my take on it though. I can be a bit of cynic, so maybe look for a second opinion for someone who has one and has nothing but positive things to say about it :P
