I love Dead Space, but I felt that they changed DS3 too much in a bad way, or tried to "fix it" when it wasn't broken. One of the worst things was that new weapon system, which is pointless, and absolutely hectic, in my opinion. The game's story doesn't flow well too either. It's a bit messy and hard to absorb unlike the first two where you feel more like you're there (especially the first one).

I love the first one and it occupies a very high place in my list of my favorite games ever. As for the trilogy itself, Dead Space 2 is personally my favorite, and it's an absolutely brilliant game, and an example of how a sequel must be made. It did all what the first one did, but much better. A good example of not fixing something that ain't broken. I see it as a brownie that you just smear more chocolate on top of it. The third one is like someone tried to add ketchup to the brownie to make it more innovative. It just didn't work.

Dead Space 3 felt rushed... really rushed.

I can take an issue with literally almost every element in the game. It feels both incoherent and incomplete to me.
