Married!
Figured I'd post a personal life update here.
Last Sunday (8/31/2014),
teiran and I got married!
We had proposed to each other last June after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act. Then early last month we flew out to California to have the legal ceremony done and to get our marriage license. This weekend was the big wedding with family and friends here in Texas.
Texas doesn't recognize same-sex marriage yet, but since there's no state income tax and our marriage is recognized on the Federal level then it is legal for income tax purposes. I'm confident that within five years, if not two or three, this state will be forced to recognize our marriage too.
Anyway, after being a couple for 13 years we're finally married. It doesn't change much in our daily lives since we've been living together for nearly a decade already, but it still meant a lot to have the ceremony, to officially proclaim our love with all the people close to us celebrating with us.
The weekend was a mad whirlwind due to bachelor parties, out of town guests, the ceremony and the after party. It was fun and overwhelming in a good way, but also pretty exhausting.
I'm really happy and I feel so incredibly fortunate to have Teiran and so many awesome people in my life.
Also, I want to thank
kyell for writing and officiating both ceremonies. He did a beautiful, amazing job. And
osfer, for being our wedding photographer all weekend. I can't wait to see the finished product, but the pics I've seen so far look amazing!
In other news, the cons I'm going to the rest of the year are Rainfurrest and Central Plains FurCon.
Now back to publishing and shipping books!

Did you have separate bachelor parties?
And yup, we did!
Mine was at a local hookah cafe which I frequent with friends. We had a family-style Lebanese dinner and then hookah.
Lots of love from another happily married couple - US!
Sorry for my probably questionable grammar.
