A discussion of horror game and a writing update.

Hi All
You know it seems in recent years (2010 to the present year) we've been seeing loads of indie horror games. They come and go, grow in popularity and decline. The biggest now is Five Night's at Freddy's.
What do I think of it? I think is a good game, lot of atmosphere and some genuinely creepy antagonists, playing on the uncanny valley and the fear of animatronics.
I'm just not scared of it....nope I don't find the jumpscares that terrifying. Sure there's a screech, but I find the image of a giant rabbit or chicken shaking about as though trying to nibble you kind of funny. Its when they're in the corridors, silently looking at you through the camera or when the fox is running down the corridor or when all you can hear is tem moving, that's when its creepy for me.
But that's just me, I can see why people are scared of it. It is a creepy game, though its not my type. I'm not a scary guy, I'm a happy guy Its a tonne better than poor old Slenderman though, aka faceless Voldemort
The fan art of this game though is....dull. Some of it is the generic "Rule 34" (I think the whole rule 34 thing is silly) creepy, some of it is ok and some of it is odd. Most of it though is drawings of characters as animatronics. Honestly they just remind me of those old My Little Pony conversions. Just give a character creepy eyes, jointed metal arms and other animatronic features and bam, done.
They just lack the creepy dilapidated quality of the originals, they're too clean and squeaky looking and boring.
From that lets talk about writing :D
I've gotten to a good start on chapter 5 of Tales of the Eternals. This chapter is going to be shorter than the last one.
Also I have been considering making a team of FBA (Furry Basketball) characters. I was thinking of making dinosaurs, because dinosaurs are awesome obviously.
The characters were going to be some of the less well known dinosaurs, like Allosaurus and Rajasaurus.
But after thinking and re-thinking it over, as well as some other influences, I decided to drop the whole FBA thing. I might 'recycle' the dinosaurs for something else (I have a few of them thought out) and just concentrate on one thing for now.
I respect the FBA's creator
BuckHopper, but I don't feel I could write these sorts of things :o
Thank you for reading

there's already 5 FA groups about it :o
some are nicer than others :D
But people like what they want, we can't just select + delete the wrong sub fandoms

Alone, left to the mercy of crazy animated robotics from a failed kids restaurant, with limited power and the promise of imminent death if you use it unwisely. Better keep checking those doors..
As for the writing-! I respect someone's ability to recognize whether or not they feel the writing would work out or not. I personally find it difficult to find time to read from my computer, otherwise I'd say I'd try to follow any prospective story along - but best wishes with whatever you decide to do, be it recycle them, or make an attempt at writing. No harm in a little bit of practice, even if it's only for your personal viewing! :)
Curious to note, as I type these there's an ad for FNaF at the bottom of the screen xD
The animatronics are pretty creepy, all falling apart and honestly they're bad designs for something designed for kids what kid would want to be around with something that has creepy eyes and teeth like that?
I'm unsure what to do with my dinosaurs, because I don't feel like I could write things set in the modern era, my speciality is of far off worlds and history or the future
Its surprising how a modern world can be tough to write, we just make it so complicated with all our currency and politics :o
I don't know why I'm not affected like some of my other friends are though they were screaming and I when I played I was neutral
I'm more of a Journey fan; surfing sand dunes is fun :D
