Its getting rare to see DC-9 aircraft

On January 7th, 2014, Delta Airlines retired their last DC-9-50, ending the last normally scheduled DC-9 flight in the US.
While charters and cargo airlines will continue to operate these aircraft for years to come, this marks an end of an era for me.
As someone who saw and heard these planes daily from 2000-2011 and saw them in 2 different variants, for 3 different airlines, in 5 different paint schemes, it feels a bit odd to know that they are now a rarity.
