Iraq week 1 and 2

I told you all it was happening, and here it is. I am in Iraq. A US Marine, serving overseas as a CBRN Incident Response Team member, supporting over 50% of the troops in Iraq. Currently, I am in charge of my units CBRN warehouse and inventory as well as issuing over 5000 items of equipment to units throughout Iraq. That is all I can disclose of my job to anyone. If you ask, you will not know anymore than that.
Now, as far as my time here in general, I can go ahead and say this. It's not a bad country. The people are nice (both Iraqi nationals and Third Country Nationals). They have a wealth of cultural knowledge I have been eking out of them as well as learning where them come from. The whether isn't too bad and I still have internet available to me, although I am 8 hours ahead of home.
To detail a little more, I have been to Amsterdam, Kuwait and now Iraq. I may have chances to go to other nations, like Syria, but that is neither here nor there. All I care about is saving my money, getting an education, and getting out the military in September 2010. As you can see by my mood, I am not very happy. So you can expect some dark writings and drawing as well. I have started a mural on my wall I am naming "Monument of the Damned". You can also expect a few WIP pictures of that every now and then, as well as pics I randomly take of the country.
As of now, while I sit here in my small closet of a room and type this, I grow weary of typing, and am off to instead sit lay down and mull over some thoughts of mine. I will keep posting at least weekly updates for you all to view and get an idea of what's going on in my life.

Oh, and if you're one of those douches that don't support the military or the war effort or whatever you want to call it, and scream that we are murdering people. FUCK OFF! I have seen more good done that anything else. I have yet to even chamber a single round, other than those that we use on the range, and I intend to keep my hands clean of blood unless my life or another life is in immediate danger.
P.S. I have phone access out here as well, just PM me as I don't have my cell phone, and thus anyones number/address (I also lost my thumb drive with all that info on it, and when I say lost, I mean it got smashed in transit).

you're doing a great job right now , its not everybody that could do this job man.
