i know it sounds rushed but avoiding the details and simply saying "this is one mother of a cluster f@ck" is possibly an understatement worthy of Olympic gold. if all else really fails, there is a shelter that i could take my cats to but odds are against them in finding them a home and not being put to sleep (just typing that hurt me inside... ow...) so finding a safer alternative or someone would be miraculous to say the least.
