(Why) Should I get Animal Crossing: New Leaf?

Dear friends, watchers, and visitors,
Kinda bored on games after completing Pokemon Y and Mario Kart 8, however aside from casually playing Nintendo Land, I'm wanting to find a new time sink.
I recently unlocked the Isabelle hat on Mii Plaza, which got me thinking about AC:NL. I remember the game was REALLY big here on FA a while ago, and I found a copy of it for $19 at a local used game shop, so... Why should I buy it? I just sorta need some praise for the game. Why did you buy your copy, did you have fun, is single player any good, what about StreetPass and etc?

You have to do the same things daily to make the same three town folk happy. None of them know how to deilver their own mail. Once you pay off you house, and decarate it.... It just... A house... Once find all the fossils... Thats all fun. But then there are the bugs/fish who only appear one month a year.... If you can't get them that month... You have to wait 11 bloody months for that bug/fish to show up again!! Then if you has a towns folk you HATE... You can't do shit... If you want say: a dog or a wolf... Good luck... Its random chance to get something you want.
Its a good game... At first... Then it just sits... Again I am against... Maybe if t comes down to 10$... Till then: nope.
