I loved Roger Rabbit and it's awesome to know learn something new about its early days before production.

I'm glad they went with the direction they ended up going, but I do like how they were leaning to a grittier looking movie. Not fond of Roger though, too, Trix rabbit there

Agreed. Like early versions of Nut Job, the finished product was immensely superior to the preliminaries, and with WFRR, it was not just superior, but a classic for the film industry.

Most other hybrid have had terrible trouble integrating live-action with animated elements.
With Rodger Rabbit, there's only one or two placed where they even HINT at difficulties, and that's only when they integrate live action elements with animated characters. Truly a technical marvel for it's day.

Now I wanna watch it again.

It would've been odd to see that movie without Bob Hoskins, but it is interesting to see that that movie had a much longer history.

Makes you wonder how many other movies went the opposite direction, having a better/origonal story before being changed into something more dull

That's a pretty neat find. I like the changes they made but that would be an interesting movie to watch as well.
