YCH Auctions 2014
Because I plan on doing quite a few of these in the future I figured I would go ahead and outline the basics. Below you will find any and all information concerning my YCH auctions as far as what can and can’t be done. YCH auctions are subject to the same rules and agreements as my regular commissions and will now be one of the only ways to receive adult art work from me. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment!
What is a “YCH”?
“YCH” stand for “Your character here”, it is a pre-made template (normally a rough sketch) that can be edited into a specific character.
How does a YCH auction work?
A YCH auction work just like any other auction with the highest bidder being awarded the final piece. In order to bid all you have to do is quote the opening “bid here” post with your offer. After an offer has been made make sure to quote the current highest bidder with your offer making sure it inheres to the minimum bid increase guidelines.
How do/when do I send payment?
All payments must be sent via paypal within 24 hours of the auction ending. Failure to pay within the allotted time will result in the piece being awarded to the next highest bidder. All payments are to be made in USD and will be sent to you in the form of a time sensitive invoice. Please to not bid if you will be unable to make the required payment within the 24 hour deadline.
How much will you edit a base?
All bases can be edited within reason and are not species specific. Adding tails, horns, wings, increasing/decreasing the bust size and minor weight changes are all within the realm of reason. Any auctions resulting in the final bid of $100.00 (uds) or more will be subject to more extensive edits such as gender change, drastic weight changes and minor pose changes.
Are your YCH’s gender specific?
All bases will state wither or not the piece is gender specific in the description. In most cases any female base can be edited into a hermaphrodite but not a full male. Exceptions will be made if the final bid reaches $100.00 (usd) or more.
When there are multiple characters present am I bidding on a single slot or the picture as a whole?
Wither or not you’re bidding on a slot or the picture as a whole will be stated in the description.
Do you reuse/resell bases?
No, all bases are %100 original and will not be resold. If you see something you like bid on it then because it will not become available again.
What do your YCH reference sheets include?
YCH reference sheets are done as a ladder auction with the final amount dictating what is included within the piece. The starting bid will always include a full color, full body frontal and rear view.
What is a ladder auction?
A ladder auction is an auction with different price rungs. Once a rung has been met extra details will be added.
Can I swap/change things about the reference sheet?
If, for instance, the reference sheet includes a chibi clothing reference but, your character doesn’t wear clothing, swaps/changes can be made in order to accommodate your needs/wishes.
Is there a quality difference between your YCH and your regular commissions?
No, I strive to give all of my commissioners, be YCH or otherwise, quality art work.
Do I get to see a WIP/approve a sketch?
On basic YCH auctions there will not be an approval process unless extensive edits are to be done to the base. On reference sheets however, there will be two approval points: the first after the sketch has been edited and the second after the base colors have been laid in.
How can I get featured in one of your YCH’s?
Featured characters are done one of two ways. This first is a $30.00 flat fee that will be paid up front. The flat fee will insure you have some creative control over the piece like what you want your characters role to be and how many other characters will be present. In the second option a set price will be agreed upon between myself and the commissioner, if/when that price is met though the auction the commissioner pays nothing but, if by chance, the auction doesn’t meet the agreed upon price the commissioner pays the difference. For Instance, if the agreed upon price was $60.00 but the auction resulted in a bid of $50.00 the commissioner would pay the $10.00 difference. Unlike in the first option the commissioner will have very little say beyond the role they wish there character to play within the piece.
How long does it take to complete a piece?
On average a basic YCH will be finished within a week (7 business days) depending on the extent the base needs to be edited. Due to the level of detail included in a reference sheet they will be finished within a month (30 days) of the auction being closed.
