I seem to be in the same situation. My brother is the opposite of me in very many ways and there seems to be a constant tension between us, as much as I suspect it pains the both of us. All you can do is keep loving, give him some space for a bit, as Samson wisely put he may just be in a rough patch in his heart right now and it's showing in his attitude. Everyone has their own inner battles that not even all family members know about.
Don't be too down, you're far from alone in this predicament. Just keep being a light in your home and allow him space, but when/if the time appears to be right, perhaps the two of your could talk it (not fight it out) remember a soft answer turns away wrath. Good luck buddy.
