Troubles :/
Well, to make long story short - my laptop had a disc crash. A lethal one, I think. I had some troubles with boot sector few times in the past, but this time it was something much worse. I had to buy new disc, even though I'm little short of money recently (heh, and who is not?).
By the way, anyone knows what does "SMART has been tripped" means? Disc scan after the crash says so. I know what SMART stands for and what it does, I'm just unsure if I get the message right.
Few months ago, knowing my HDD isn't doing too well I started doing backups of my most important data. So I have not lost my latest Flash completely... But I didn't do backups every day or hour so what I got is not the most recent version there was.
The old disc is still somehow readable, I managed to retrieve some data from it. That process is time-consuming, plus I have to install hundreds of thousands of programs here on my new drive.
Anyway the Flash will be delayed, sorry.

i hope mine doesnt blow up, i hope you can get that fixed
Furrywriter.
I can talk to one of my friends at school, he and his father are computer geniuses, they should know what that means, if there's anymore to that error code, mind sending the rest to me? Is it coming from the new disc or old one?
Hope you get your programs running smooth again, not having a computer to work with makes things more difficult and good luck with your studies and the upcoming flash ^^
*hugs you* ^_^
PROTECT THE PORN!
That's too bad,
I hope teh pron comes out alright
'smart has been tripped' seems to mean that the hard drive has a machanical or electronic problem causing SMART not to work. Hard drives swap is the way to go ; if you have troubles with the new one as well, maybe it's not well attached to the laptop's motherboard or maybe the hard drive you bought was defective to start with.
If you have warrenty over your laptop, use it. if you have warrenty over the hard drive, use it.
smart being down, don't expect high-speed reading the old disc.
I'd sugggest using a linux machine, a hard drive of the same size and a dd command to clone the disk with read errors.
That will take forever but would allow to recover all the data.
computers, they don't love, they don't hate, they are not evil... just machines!
