Arte is a pretty awesome public Franco-German TV-network catering to a niche of artsy, intellectual and cosmopolitan audience, so there's not much sympathy to win with going sensationalist and judgemental on the various sub cultures they interview - one of their magazines even made a visit to some famous French BDSM dungeon.
The only thing that made me flinch a little was in the official announcement text on their website when con-crud was kept abstract by refering to it as "getting an infection" from conventions, rather than narrowing most of it down to colds and influenza.
