It has come down to this...Naming my first artist
11 years ago
That I have to name and shame.
I kind of hoped it wouldn't come down to this as frankly I am not sure what if anything this will achieve but I feel I need to do this.
As mentioned before many times, I have had problems with artists that don't do the work I have paid them for.
One such artist is

I have waited a long time for commissions I have paid for, going over years for some and I think I have waited enough before finally mentioning this. I've waited and waited while seeing Saint opening up for more and more commissions with a lot of slots available and more often than not, many commissions for different people end up on an "Old" commission list (though I feel one or two people seem to have alot less problems getting their commissions done in a timely manner)
Now some of you may know that Saint does not charge a great deal for his work and believe me that is generous of him as he could probably charge more given his skills, if he could do them on time. If it was just a few pics, I wouldn't be this frustrated as it would not really be much, However it is more than a few and the total amount owed to me has become way too large.
Of course, I have to take blame for the amount owed to me being so large as I could of easier held off and not get as many. I just don't have enough self control sometimes.
Right now I feel like if I knew a way to officially report this on this site, I would as something needs to be done.
This does NOT mean that anyone reading this should go to his page and shout or abuse him in any way. Thats not why I am writing this journal. NO-one should take abuse here. This journal is bringing things to light and quite frankly giving a number of warnings:
-To other commissioners, Be very weary if you consider commissioning Saint. His art is good and he puts effort into them, however he just does not seem to be disciplined enough to do them to a reasonable schedule (for what ever reason good or bad).
-To him - I do in some way apologize for this as I do consider him a friend cause personally he is a very kind and fun person. He has never been abusive and to an extent he is aware of his problems with his growing list of overdue work. As a person himself I have no complaints to him. But enough is enough with waiting. I have to let him know I can no longer be silent about this, I feel I have been fair in how I have dealt with this up til now.
-To other artist - I know this seems like a really **** move on my part, me being arrogant into demanding things without fully understanding the situations you may be in. However I am going to be doing more and more as time goes on about sorting the issues with commissions, being more of these journals or doing anything officially. Perhaps there is little I can do at this stage, its not like can really present a case in this situation, but I will at least try to have things resolved in someway.
Sorry to everyone who watches me for yet another ranting journal which has become the usual thing with me now. I hope in future I can post some more positive journals.

Is somthing i still trying to work out in the future and try my clients be aware of the time, maybe somthimes i dont mention that, accept my faults and accept the time take me do stuff, my skype and notes be always open to anyone wanting give they opinion in a mature way n .. n
This is the nicest amenacing thing as ever got in my life, thank you XD
In any event it seems actually pretty sad that someone who has commissioned you even in the past has felt a need to resort to a journal of this sorts even if it's polite because I'm clicking and clicking away at your gallery and just seems there's so much stuff in there that you would actually need to be timely in your deliveries to have this many submissions since 2006. I mean that's about 112 submissions a year. o.o
Anywho, I think if you've got a big plate it may be worthwhile to consider working chronologically until you're caught up; going with the oldest in the queue first. That way those awaiting for stuff will get what they've paid ya for and you of course get to clear out your backlog. Generally speaking while it's good to be available via skype and notes for your clients it's not typically a good business practice to wait until the client comes to you to find out what's up when things are taking a bit long. One thing I can tell from skimming over your journals is there doesn't always seem to be much focus on addressing the issue of your backlog and you seem to take on loads of new work before the backlog is cleared up. Perhaps it may be worthwhile to tuck away distractions and just start hammering it out. From the tone of your journals it seems you have people awaiting to commission you, which is a very, very good thing to have obviously because it shows there's a demand/want for your stuff. But if the supply moves too slowly, in this case via a large backlog of people waiting for delivery, the demand could slow to a trickle and even flat out go away.
Realistically all you can do is do your best and own up to your mistakes. When I worked at Amazon that's exactly how we operate and why (at least in the USA) we're rated #1 in customer satisfaction overall. Believe me. I know. I helped develop some of the policies that gave us more leeway in handling customer issues without asking for manager permission. ^_- For example if a package doesn't arrive by the estimated delivery date all one needs to do is chat in or call and can usually get their shipping costs refunded no problem. What you have here is pretty much a gold mine of potential art sales. Now all ya gotta do is just keep up with the work, try to minimize RL distractions usually by setting aside a specific amount of time during the day just for your commissions. Even if it's just a few hours on a day you normally wouldn't take any for art. It goes a long way really. Then once you have that backlog done I'm certain you'll be able to breathe even better. But also since you seem to have a steady demand you might also consider opening up fewer slots so that way you get a better balance between income and productivity for the time you have available for art.
Hope this helps out. :)
Firts of all, i must say that thank you for see you taked your time to see about my submissions and all the stuff in my page without just taking conclusions for one side :3
second, in all my time as meet, enginners, programer,s pseudo-chefs, doctors, nurses, even architechs furrys, but never administrative furries or that be in jobs like that, i guess be one more to add to my list XD proof of furries be everywhere.
Now then, i think your right in all of your points, some of the stuff of timing that happens be somthimes things i cant control or awfully cant explain, but your comment gived me ideas and helped me tought ways to solve this issue, was very informative.
I kind of aware how much money i can make with this XD thanks for say be an unexplored goldmine, i really want exploid this more, but would be when can solve issues like this.
Thanks again for your comment, was honestly very usefull
But yeah naw if anything I just want you to succeed in your endeavors. You're a talented person with a nice portfolio to show for it and sometimes people just need a little bit of honest and constructive critique in their business practices much like in artwork. One cannot simply just bash someone with the bad and not acknowledge any good they do. That sucks. It upsets people and it doesn't encourage them. It's a basic leadership skill and should be a general human being skill. People tend to be more receptive when you note the good points about them.
Life stuff tends to get in the way as it always does. And honestly commissioners really do understand that. Even the majority of the customers I dealt with at Amazon directly were even understanding when packages were late, especially around holidays. It's those people I would bend over backwards for and go the extra mile beyond a simple refunding of shipping and handling costs. I'd usually toss in a small promo certificate they can use for stuff and angle it as a discount on a new order or a couple of digital books on us, music, a movie rental..etc. So as long as you can figure out a balance and get your backlog worked on and hammered out, you'll be just fine. You don't need to spill the beans on every detail of your personal life to explain yourself to your clients but an update with a simple explanation as to why there's a delay is usually enough. The big part is keeping the lines of communication open. A critical element in any relationship be it lovers, friends and even clients. That's the key right there. And yet people spend tons of cash in seminars and self-help books and what not trying to figure that out. :)
You also have a very positive attitude. Very friendly and approachable... so much so it's actually kinda hard even imagining someone getting mad at you. But, that's a good trait to have. Most of us tend to struggle with that. ;) I can be a dick when I'm cornered and pissed off. hehehe. But yes, I'm glad I could be of help. Keep up the good work and keep that chin up. ^^
