Used to have a little cardboard one too, with a small TV atop it!
Everyone was always scared it'd fall over, even though I re-enforced it!
Long story short, it never fell, but I cut it in half, no more bendy shelf!
Makes me sad when we have to, but have you thought of putting a few books into a box on the side?
