I say bring back those classic Saturday morning cartoon marathons! Saturday was THE day for me when I was a kid. I remember how sad and lonely I felt when 12:30pm arrived, once the block ended and I would have to wait till next Saturday to do it all again.
I hope
furpocalypse will continue the Saturday cartoon tradition
furfright used to have. I know
flashtwolf likes that, too.

And so many, many more!
From 5:30 AM to just before noon like Our Host said, to be replaced by either the teen dance shows or pro-wrestling.
But don't fool yourselves: kids today have a much, much better access to cartoons than we ever did. Today we have the technology we were being promised during the Cold War. And that's a VERY good thing.
It's pretty much similar with cartoons made for young children that are labeled "Educational". The company who makes the show doesn't care if your child is getting smarter. It's all just marketing and making money. You make a character the kids will like, make a toy line out of it so the parents will buy toys and bingo, millions made. They pull kids in by adding in lots and lots of vibrant colours and interesting backgrounds. It doesn't matter if all the character does is repeat the same line 20 times. Young children don't know any different and all they're going is responding to the pretty colours, the character, and the sounds.
It's sad when everything nowadays isn't even made for entertainment. It's just another sad attempt at making money.
I grew up with stuff like Mr. Wizard, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Reading Rainbow, and Magic School Bus.
But I also saw the demise of it.... and turned to other stations that ran cartoons, sometimes in the weirdest hours of the day. There was one station that ran Bravestarr at 4:30 am!!! God knows how many times I would wake up and record the show (I didn't record the commercials) while at the same time having a paw time fantasizing about 30-30
I have been watching the CW's animation block and now that it is gone, I feel I have no recourse but watch my dvd's and have those memories. Kids in the future will miss something we took for granted.
Deep sigh!
I like your avatar.
Wow that is a sad thing, would hate for it to happen to other networks like Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney.
