Guys, can we all just be cool to one another? Please?

ALL bias is bad. It doesn't matter if it's towards a minority or the majority. You shouldn't dislike anyone for being one or the other. And please don;t go making assumptions that I am saying this from a CIS, white standpoint because I am neither of those and assumptions are bad. A teacher or doctor isn't going to act unprofessionally just because you are brown, short, disabled, white, trans, queer, able-bodied, old, young, speak a language other than their own or anything else. This is literally SO IMPORTANT that they are required to take anti-bias courses! If they do act unprofesionally then they are not the type of person to be in a position like that and should be reported.
One last thing, just because you are in the minority it does not give you the right to judge the majority. YOU ARE JUST AS BAD AS THOSE YOU THAT JUDGE YOU

"It's also possible that the ideas are just really stupid, and nobody wants to waste their time on them, right? Not every perspective in every debate deserves attention. Journalists make the call to ignore stupid ideas all the time, and it's vitally important that they do so, or every news story about a murder case would have to include a sidebar about why that jerk totally deserved it.
Bias is a problem when it's a 'systematic distortion of reality.' And to figure out when that's happening, you gotta identify what information is being withheld, why, and who's benefiting. You always have to ask yourself, 'Why would someone spread this lie?' And if your answer is, 'To advance the [blank] agenda!' then you're missing the point, because that's a bulls**t non-answer that's tricking you into not thinking."
Bias is our world view, and we all have it - it's when we let that bias dictate how we act towards one another that makes the problems. Or when we try to make everyone be like us. That's the reason homophobia is so bad - saying "You can't be gay because it's against my religion," if you really look at it, is about as silly as saying, "You can't have a cookie because I'm on a diet." But that doesn't give any gay person or gay ally the right to be prejudiced against straight people either - for the same reason.

this is untrue, stuff like this happens all the time and there are studies and reports on how minorities are mistreated, even though i wish this was the case where everyone was treated equally its just not how the world is. I would know, ive experienced it first hand wayy to many times not just with teachers and doctors but with so many including my peers
the world is not equal and there are many things wrong that need to be fixed
journals like this make me kinda uncomfortable because they are usually full of comments that are really harsh but luckily this journal doesnt seem to be thatway yet
usually when a minority expresses hate towards a majority with blanket statements its usually because theyved experience so much hate from that majority they are fustrated, im not saying its right or anything as its a big grey area for me but -shrugs-
sometimes minorities have to be aggressive to be seen and recognized and have things change as in the past, we cant always be friendly or turn the other cheek and sometimes its important to respond harshly, anger has use, its not always needed and shouldnt be the first thing needed but alas.
i just wish the world could be equal for everyone but..sigh
A lot are struggling to just get by have you not seen the faces when your out.
Every one is ok in my book .
Sad some hate on ones they dont understand my being a part of a subgroup my self.
What made me no one walked in my shoes and had the stuff I went through or would want to and there are other's like me.
Lot's of them. I found out later in life there are still bullies they never stopped being bullies.
Look how kids treat other kids my gosh and some parent's think it's ok.
I know one public school that the parent came up and dumped trash on this girl oh she is 5th grade at a school .
For being poor her mom is trying to raise 5 kids with no support from the dad she is disabled cant work .
A teacher even gave pamphlet's to the girl in front of the whole class about being homeless she is not homeless.
It's every where sad but talking about it helps get others thinking so may change things in time.
But there will be those that are not open minded Hater's will still hate.
Hugs all.
