Countdown To Smash Bros 3DS (Day 3: Brawl)

Only two days remain til the release of Smash Bros 3DS!
Warning: there's a lot of text this time.
Brawl... The first game that I was ever hyped for, and my reason to get a Nintendo Wii. Ever since I saw that trailer in 06, I couldn't wait to play as the newcomers: Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, and Snake... ! Snake?! Yeah, the hype for this game got even bigger when Snake was announced as a fighter, many people saw this as a chance for other 3rd party characters to join the fight, in the end, only one other third party character joined Snake, Sonic The Hedgehog. And before I continue talking about the game, let's talk about Electronic Gaming Monthly's April Fools joke from 2002, In which they claimed that both Sonic and Tails where unlockable fighters, and both would be unlocked after you KOed 20 opponents in Cruel Melee ( The Mock up photos http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb.....ailshoax.jpg). EGM later apologized as it too many people took it seriously. And then later, Yuji Naka, Sonic's creator, relived that their where gonna try to put Sonic in Melee, but time constraints prevented it from happening. And look now, Sonic is a playable fighter in both Brawl and Smash 4, Tails on the other hand only got stage cameos and a trophy in both Brawl and Smash 4, maybe next time Tails.
Now back to Brawl: After Sonic's announcement, and because he was added in very late in development, the game had to be delayed to 2008, the USA release just happened to be on my birthday, but this made many of us disappointed as we had to late a few more months.
But after that long late, we final got the chance to play Brawl along with it's new modes. Subspace Emissary was an new adventure model that bought all the fighters, expect three of them, to save the world in one big adventure. It had you play every fighter ,expect three that you would later unlock, in the game interact with each other, teaming up , or fighting against each other. We mostly all enjoyed it... Until we reached it's final level, The Great Maze. Not only this level was crammed with every previous level together, but it was also big, took forever, had you refight every boss, every fighter you came across, and you would likely to get lost A LOT, all that to fight the final boss and one of the many ways to unlock Sonic. Seriously, look how big this map is, it's huge! ( http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki.....egreatmaze.jpg ) Other than that, it's adventure mode was ok, though I'm a little sad that it's not coming back for Smash 4. There was also an online mode, where you could fight anyone around the world. At first we all thought this was gonna be fun... Our minds quickly changed after the game came out. Not only it took you forever just to find players to fight against, but there was also massive lag, and a big chance that you would get disconcerted from the other players. He's hoping that both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash 4 fix that. Now the roaster, it's pretty good, though there are some fighters that we never asked for (R.O.B,), and some fighters from Melee had to be cut (Mewtwo, Roy, and Dr. Mario's files can still be found in the disk). Other than that, it was the best roaster that we had until Smash 4, with 29 starting characters and 14 unlockable character bring the total to 35 fighting characters, ten more fighters than Melee.
Now there's one more thing to talk about Brawl... Tripping and how slow it is, while these elements don't brother me, it brothered almost everyone else though. These where put into the game to balance both the characters and players. Like I saw, this neverd brothered me, and I don't even notice it most of the time. Though tripping is getting removed for Smash 4, and the speed has been turned up a bit.
Overall, until Smash 4 comes out, this will be my favorite Smash Bros game. Only two more days guys!
