Aftermath of our first meet!

I think at least the majority of people who went to the meet felt that it was a success. Special thanks to Spiff for starting up the idea for the meet. If any of you have photos of the meet be sure to let us know so we can share them with the rest of the group and let everyone know how much fun it was. The staff at the bowling alley enjoyed us being there and some of their employees even asked to get their picture taken with some of our suiters so we will most likely be coming back there at some point.
This coming week we will be coming up with ways to keep you all informed about future events and begin to create a list of meet ideas for the coming months. Some things we are currently considering:
- Halloween gathering(s) - There may be more than one simultaneously because of the sheer number of NOVA furs that we have
- Convention group(s) - This would help coordinate furs to go to/from conventions, share the cost of hotel rooms, etc. This is especially the case since Nekocon is coming up which is an anime convention that is especially friendly to furries
- Mini-Golf - Since the bowling meet was a success and the weather is turning a bit colder, it will be better for those that wish to wear their suits so they won't be as warm
- Game nights - This can be video games, board games, D&D games (with the new edition that's come out) with fellow furs
- Movie nights - Whether they be in-house or going to a movie theater like in Tysons Corner
- Furthermore - It's a furry convention that will be held May 29th-31st at the Sheraton in Tysons Corner. Seeing as it is in our backyard you can bet that we will try to be involved to some capacity.
And many other ideas. If there is something you feel we should look into specifically, let us know with our google form because these events only become successful with you all. Also, did you get the prize I sent you from Anthrocon?
I filled out that form thing, and have been pondering opening my house up again to open invite hangouts to the local furs. Last time I did so was either 2009 or 2010.
We plan to open up a facebook group and a meetup page to help coordinate meets in the area whether they be small or large.
