Feedback Requested; Comic Idea

So, people have asked me if I've ever thought about doing a comic. I would like to, but I've never had an idea for something that I think would both fit the format, and that I would have the chops to carry out.
However, during Rainfurrest, at the Saturday Morning Cartoons event, an episode of Rescue Rangers was shown (specifically the Cola Cult episode, but I digress), I shortly had an idea.
A short comic/graphic novel that can be summed up thusly; a crossover between I Am Legend and Rescue Rangers, starring Gadget and Zipper in particular.
I'm currently doodling character designs, and attempting to adapt/recreate the show's style as opposed to my own. I haven't yet written anything, but this' still a rough idea.
Any thoughts/suggestions are wholly appreciated!

Man there's a LOT of cartoon & comic characters I know hardly anything about, I can't say I've heard more than the name of Rescue Rangers honestly. A comic from you of any sort however, would be pretty dang cool I would think!

I can recommend "UNderstanding Comics" by Scott McCloud, btw. a comic book about comics... XD but a great read, and he shows us a lot of mechanics behind good comics, too.
I've always been pretty fascinated with your pictures of Shalara and the Shining Sun world. Maybe I'm just a sucker for post-apocalyptic scenarios, but I think it would make for a very interesting comic series!
