Horse Boots Help

So I've been talking with 
slaton about my Kalin suit. She'll be made in bits and pieces and over Christmas we're going to work on horse boots for me. The lovely 
janet has made me a gorgeous tail that I get many compliments over, and is going to be making me some armsleeves. To accompany them we want to make the boots as a project between Ellis and I, which I think will turn into a family project because his dad loves building things. XD
As such, I've been trying to find tutorials, youtube videos and different places that show different types of hoof boot insides. I think I'll stay away from the stilt type as I still want to be digitrade but not taller than Ellis, and being that I'm fairly tall for a lady myself I want to go through doors easily.
We want to go with the stiletto option and get ahold of some DVC small horse hooves in Kalins peachy colour. Has anyone had any luck using them? Or has anyone tried making their own hoof boots and could give me some advice? ;_;
For the head
stuffedpandastudios is remaking her horse head base and I hope to be able to snag one as soon as she's ready to sell them. ;^; I love her bases. I must get a pair of her ice blue eyes. If we can get one before Christmas, I think Ellis and I will spend time together making Kalin as a couple. ^____^ It'd be a really fun project for the pair of us, so I'm looking forward to it!!! xxx
PS: Why the hell am I still awake? Ellis wakes up in an hour. Should I just stay awake and say goodmorning? Hah. ;___; Insomnia has never hit me like this before. Goodness.

This is my Kalin tail. I was really impressed with it especially after I found out Janet used to (I don't know if she still does) proper horse plating/braiding for show horses. The braid down the center is tucked in like you would get on a show horse and she added little bells down the center that are so dainty you have to be up close to see the detail. She doesn't have to do the plating/braiding, but I would recommend her for the quality she puts out for horse tails.

Hopefully you do find someone to make one! Finding decent tails for equines has proven to be really difficult.
Also, I totally feel you on the insomnia thing... there's a reason I'm usually up late enough to catch your streams despite the time difference. >.<

I love the idea of the materials shes used! I've spent some time sketching out my legs and roughly how to make some boots/leggings to work for Kalin that if all goes well, should mimic the first pair, though itd be a set of trousers and a set of boots.

Maybe have a chat to Merc if you haven't already done so? She might be able to advise on how they were to work with. I do remember he saying that they stretched really well and weren't very stiff.
Ellis and Branston were created at the same time by Faru and Merc, so they've both got DVC hooves on the base and I've been messing with Ellis's hooves. XD I'm going to opt for making my own hooves out of car body filler (theres a few tutorials roaming around on the internet on making faun boots with this process) since I'm going down a boot/heeless shoe route for a more feminine looking digitrade leg. I was tempted to try DVCs small hooves, but the cost of shipping with them made it insane to try. :/
