Plz tell me how to smooth monster maker's clay! D:

I use monster maker's clay for sculpting and I love it, but I'm having a ridiculously hard time getting the surface smooth. Does anyone also use this clay and know how to smooth it out? I've looked around on the internet and most people say to use rubbing alcohol, but I haven't been able to get it to work for me. T.T
When I was younger before finding out about the alcohol I did use turpentine which seemed to work fairly well
And also, a hair-dryer on a hot setting. That melts the clay to make it more malleable and easily managed, too.
