Welcome back, me.

Public commissions are currently closed.
Howdy everybody,
So far as projects and personal matters go, I've had a cluster-fuck of a year so far. Sorry for not posting more (and apologies to some of my commissioners/Birdsongs fans), but between a particularly devastating HDD crash (days before my scheduled two-month cloud backup), the loss of an old friend (
kiatsu), and an inability to stay on my meds ( http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/.....per/cuckoo.gif ) I've either been working on recovering months of lost data (while loosing an equal amount of time waiting on data recovery) or unable to muster up enough mental steam to work on anything beyond my private commission queue.
Birdsongs has two full pages painted up and ready, but all my scripts/story notes were on that drive. Soon as I get that data back, Birdsongs will be back on track.
My tabletop RPG project,
starcaptains was also on hold while waiting on data recovery. The project was never in danger from this data crash (I -do- occasionally back up my crap, so worse-case I would've only lost a few months of progress). Before the crash, I'd begun recruiting for artists to provide initial artwork for the crowd-funding campaign. Past some tedious GM book material, the game itself is ready. All I need are some pretty pretty pictures to gussy up the money-begging stage of the project. But, I'll get more into that in another journal.
There were some non-furry projects also set back by the HDD crash, but nothing relevant to FA. Really, only bother to mention them to explain my quiet on here from before the crash... Go quiet to spend several months on multiple projects, only to have those projects temporarily 'lost' literally days before completion... Leads to a lot of quiet, I guess.
As for my public commissioners, I apologize for the wait. I've gotten back on track with working on my queue, as things seem to finally be settling down. One of the commissions in my queue is for my departed friend. He'd only gotten a chance to pay for half his piece before medical bills took priority for him... I'll be completing it for him, whenever I can. There was at least one commission (past-due con homework) that I'd apparently never posted, and who's scan is sitting on that HDD. I promise I'll get that one posted soon as I'm able.
I haven't even worked a single con yet this year (although I will be attending/working Oklacon in a couple weeks), so there hasn't even been scan-backs or con sketches for me to post... Plus, I underestimated how much of my yearly income comes from working cons <.< Which made it harder to attend cons... And so on.
One last thing; a shout-out to my girl
seagullprophet, who's helped me through all this nonsense, and was instrumental in getting my freelance business up and running again. She's the King of Awesome, and I love her, totes realzies.

Welcome back!

Nice to hear from you again, but sad to hear you've had such unfortunate events. I'm very sorry for your loss. Your work is always worth the wait, don't stress too much about that. I hope you're doing alright and things are getting better. I'm hoping the best for a fellow bird.

I almost thought you might have left for ever... I am really glad to hear that you were able to over come the problems that were thrown you way, even though it would have always been best if they never occurred. I hope things are smooth sailing for a couple of years now!
