Skype Issues, Extremely Frustrated

So I've spent the past 48 hours trying to repair Skype and failing. On Wednesday night, my computer froze as it was shutting down and I had to power it off. I don't know if that caused the problem or not.
Opening Skype on Thrusday morning provided a Disk I/O error and the message "Skype.exe, C: corrupted or unreadable". I have been trying to solve the issue for the past 48 hours, constantly running ChkDsk, uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting this folder that the forums told me to delete, deleting that forum that the Skype site told me to delete, and nothing works.
I can't get on Skype at all, and no one I talk to will get on YIM, so I've kind of just been alone the past two days. And the bullshit with FA prevents me from talking to people here. So yeah, extremely frustrated and depressed. >.<

It may be worth the time to have a lookaround for other programs you can use instead until the moment you decide to just do a complete computer sweep and reinstall the OS (very best way to get performance back up to top levels).

It usually says "Shade". But it just says shade.the.giratina
Everyone else has their set name on my skype contacts list, but you have your actual username up.
I dunno if it was on purpose or if it is a clue to search on google for the problem? Trying to see if I can help in any way ^^;
