Yet another 'sona announcement
General
This is an announcement that I've been holding off on for a bit now, having been foreshadowed by the preceding journal listing my biggest influences in age regression.
If you haven't read that yet, I'd suggest that you at least go and read the section for "Digimon The Movie" before continuing with this one.
Those of you who know me will see this as something that probably should have happened YEARS ago, but upon reviewing "Digimon The Movie" yet again my desire is finally strong enough.
Ladies and gentlemen...
To my already expansive reservoir of fursonas, I would like to add a Digimon one.
I know that there are still half a dozen sonas I have yet to formally introduce before this one.
What you might not know is that one of them is actually a Pokemon sona that I have been using exclusively in private RPs: Arc the Arcanine. Having a closer attachment to Digimon all this time (for now obvious reasons), I feel as though I've betrayed myself a bit for making a Pokemon one first. I am now out to rectify that and to act upon the rekindled Digimon fan fuel I have after watching the movie yet again.
I don't have any specifics set in place just yet for the Digisona, except for the fact that he will likely be used for reenacting to an extent the regression sequences within the movie. This means that my Digisona will in fact need several developed digivolution forms, and not just be restricted to one of them.
The big thorn in the side of my progress here is that the first Digimon movie is practically my only influence from the franchise at this point.
I recall that the last time I had rediscovered the movie, I tried to go back and watch the series. However, after just one episode, I found it practically unbearable to watch at the age I am now. However, I do remember many of the protagonist Digimon from the first three circulations, and so the form I ultimately choose will likely come from there. What I might also start doing is progress through the other Digimon movies, as I believe the second one is somehow tied in with the first.
While I don't have a lot of options to choose from in my limited knowledge of the franchise, at the same time I'd rather not choose one of the characters that are already used far too much without my partaking. These include Veemon, Guilmon, Renamon, Gatomon, and a couple of others. However, I have realized that I may not have a choice when the time comes. But I will also try and scout the wiki for some other Digimon that I might like to see if I can find a more underused catalyst.
I have thought this through quite a bit, and I've come to deciding that the ultimate result of this sona will go one of three ways:
1. I simply pick from one of the canon Digimon and accept the form of his various digivolutions. For example, I would be a Veemon progression with perhaps different names or nicknames.
2. I choose a progression of canon digivolutions to adopt, but I alter the forms to my own liking. For example, what if Veemon and his forms were more brown or red than blue? Names would probably be altered here too.
3. I ignore the canon Digimon entirely and modify an existing fursona of mine - likely Boltro Reiodoru the Fiction Fox - and turn his features into a series of digivolutions. While normal Boltro would still exist as a fursona of mine, the Digimon version will be a completely different thing - a "Boltromon", if you will. This course would take a lot more work and would require a lot more actual art to visualize the concepts and help with brainstorming. It might actually end up being less fulfilling for me as well.
Another thing I want to stress with this sona is how he will be like in RPs.
No matter which of the 3 options above I ultimately choose, my Digisona would traditionally be a sort of subordinate to whoever he interacts with. Since he would be a Digimon, someone would have to be his Tamer. He would be taken care of by said tamer, then fight for that person when conflicts arise. And if the other person is committed enough, we could even do the whole progression where he starts as an egg and keeps working his way up.
He also doesn't need to be restricted to one person to interact with all the time. Some Digimon do have multiple tamers.
So this is what I've been planning and thinking about, aside from the big regression story that's still on the way.
I would appreciate any feedback at all regarding this, as I'm still in the early stages of development with my new Digisona. So feedback, suggestions, words of encouragement...please leave these ^#^;;
Thank you so much for reading!
Hope to hear from a few of you!
