my aplogies to anyfur is who is from California but you folk know next to nothing when it comes to winter. admittingly this is coming from a fur who just put 10w-30 in his car that requires 5w-30 and nearly just burned a hole in his bed, nay just did writing paragraph 2, with a ciggarette but none are as life-threating as what I observed only 3 hous before.

my story begins about 3pm when my emo was at a breaking point and I wen out seeking some booze, I secured some and went walking. the river had been flooding so I thought I'd go down at watch it but by then it had dropped so I walked along the previously flooded banks picking up fish and throwing them back in the river as I find them; but evuntally I came across a couple kids playing on the ice on the river. for those who don't know the high the past couple days has been upper 40's if not low 50's which means the snow is fucking melting, and the reason behind the flooding river. I can only sit aghast as the kids played within inches of the fast moving river water speechless with my thumb on the speed dial for the local police. and my thumb even closer 10 minutes later when the father of the two walks out on the slim shelf of ice. NOBODY ON FA KNOWS what I know about this river and what I know will sehd chills down your spine if you have kids. not a quarter mile downriver is a deathmachine; a low level dam which is the exact height to kill you with 100% gurantee if you go iff it with a life vest, and 1/2 of a family is playing on the weakened ice. Thank the gods that the cops showed up before they could fall in and thats only becuase they would have been dead before ANYONE could respond.

I talked to the father some time afterwards as we passed each other and I'm sure I came off as a drunked fool, casue I was, but boiled down what I said was no differend than what the cops asked; and that was "WTF?! don't you know there's a death machine down there?" His response both suprised and didn't suprise me. "We're from California, visting my sister. I didn't know." I kinda let it slide, but then again I can't. I'm not nearly as far north as Anchorage Alaska or even Chicago but I've been warned enough to know that if you fall into a frozen river YOUA RE FUCKED. If you fall into a frozen river near a death machine YOU ARE FUCKED. If you fall in a floodeing river YOUN ARE FUCKED!
