Yiynova drawing monitor? (cintiq alternatives)
Currently in university! commissions are offer only, so watch for journals! thank you ♥ Okay, so I've been hunting for cintiq alternatives since mine decided to start packing in (over a year ago... geez) and I've had my eye on the Yiynova MSP19U+ for a while. I've only read good things about it, and with a price tag of £579, and its 19" size, it seems too good to be true, especially since I spent more than that on a crappy 12WX!!
This is it:

I'm also considering a cintiq companion hybrid seen as its much more portable, and its also wacom, but alas, the price tag is greater, and it's only a mere inch bigger than the 12WX... Which im finding to be a tad too small for me now. Maybe it's because the 12WX is quite clunky and wastes a lot of room :/ idk im considering it anyway
So does anyone have any experience with a Yiynova? Or any other monitor tablets they would recommend?

First thing, you definately need to know is that it has a VGA cable so you might need to get an adapter for that.
The drivers are a little bit strange, but most of the time it works perfectly.
I'm using it as a 3rd monitor and the driver doesn't seem to support that completely. So it sometimes happens that the Yiynova driver messes up and the curser jumps to another monitor. (e.g. the Yiynova is the left monitor and the curser jumps between the yiynova and the monitor on the far right)
another thing I noticed (at least with my yiynova) is that the cables may not be insulated very good. sometimes I seem to get some interferences wich result in slight colordifferences. but moving the cables around a little bit, helped always, so i didn't call support for that)
Now. that might sound a little bad, but I'm quite pleased with this Tabletmonitor!
It has the right size and looks very good.
Colors seem to be a little bit colder than on other monitors, but only slightly.
I'm not really an artist but in my opinion the pressuresensitivity is very good.
The buttons o the left side are quite handy
All in all: I think it is super good. It is not as good as a cintiq, but the price is definately right!
Ps: there are a few very good reviews out there that go way deeper then i just did. but I never read anything about the problems with the cursor in them.
hope i helped ;)
I think that's a problem i can work around, I'll definitely consider it :)
Thats terrible, thank you for the warning. I won't be getting a companion then.
To be honest, the price did seem too high for what you end up getting... but that is just wacom products in a nutshell.
As for the yiynova. I had some shipping problems (my own fault! ) and we e-mailed back and forth to fix it. They always answered quick and very friendly! and with quick i mean within the day most of the time!
