To be put on what my dad lovingly refers to as "crazy pills". :/

I've been wanting to try antidepressants for quite a while and after a recent incident where I missed 3 days of work, I decided to make a doctor's appointment. I'm excited but kind of scared at the same time. I'm excited because I'll feel normal for the first time since I was 13. I'm scared because my grandma was on them for about a year and the results were kind of... less than satisfactory. Luckily, I remember that brand name and now know to steer clear of it unless I want to turn into a zombie. Hopefully he can give me something that helps with my anxiety too since it's been making me get physically sick at work since the beginning of the summer.

Does anyone have any experience with antidepressants/anxiety medication? If so, I'd love to hear it so I'm not as nervous.
