Laptop mouse problems

General
So my laptop mouse is being a bitch for some reason. It has started freezing on me for seemingly no reason! It happens a few minutes after I start up the laptop, and it freezes. Though strangely, it acts like a scrol wheel on a normal mouse when it does freeze (it scrolls down and up web pages and such).
My laptop is a a Toshiba brand and I've already tried the F5 thing. I'm currently using a normal cimputer mouse to get around but its a but jumpy and may take time to get used to. If anyone has an idea of what the problem could be, that would be greatly appreciated.

I've had broken-down laptops before but never due to a faulty mouse.

OP
Strangely, everything else on my laptop is working fine. Its only my LAPTOP mouse that's stopped working properly, while plugging in a new computer mouse works fine.

Possible theory: Driver problem.
