It was the angle, my attempts of a single row of spike felt "bald" so I just kept adding and every correction I did just made things messier. Im just happy with digital that I dont have to have several bottles of correction fluid on hand.

yeah it's very difficult for most folks.. It's bad enough that I literally suggest alternate head poses when I see people doing a front facing head pose most of the time.
