Back when I first got my Tokifuji pic done a year ago, within a day some dickhead posted it up on e621. After going through the ridiculously convoluted process they have in place to flag submissions for removal, like 2 weeks later they finally took it down ... only to have some other tool post the pic right back up not even a week later.
So, I gave up. Pretty much my entire gallery has been put up on that site without my permission.
It's just wanting to keep track of where I things create go and what people are sayin' about it.
Just getting TOLD that you're gonna do it would be enough.
Don't make it publicly available for free in the first place if you don't want people sharing it.
You sound like a huge immature asswipe ranting about "B-BUT I DIDNT SAY YOU COULD!!!"
Be happy people like your shit enough to repost it, not angry that you weren't there to stroke your e-peen where it was distributed.
There's a reason a lot of artists post "please do not redistribute without permission" disclaimers on like EVERY pic they post. They want to at least have some kind of control over where their work is featured. Believe it not, it can actually hurt their RL image if somehow it gets traced back to them IRL that they draw furry smut (or even furry art in general). If everything they post is allowed to just be spread around like an STD by anyone and everyone, chances are it's eventually going to end up somewhere they don't want it to, or someone they don't want to see it will see it.
And on MY end, it has nothing to do with egos being stroked or me stamping my foot because someone else might be getting "attention" for something I paid for. You seem to be failing to grasp a very simple concept here: respecting other people's property, and that's exactly what it is. If these people actually at least ASKED if they could post it somewhere I'd more than likely be okay with it, depending on the site, but the fact they assume the "LOL oh well I found it on the internet, so it's mine to do what I please with" mindset is what's obnoxious.
Ultimately, do I or anyone else REALLY have any control over where artwork ends up on the internet? No. However, that doesn't mean we're all just going to be happy about it.
Oh, and you might not go around accusing people of "immaturity" when you're the one going around swearing in every sentence and calling people you know absolutely nothing about 6th grade caliber names. Just sayin'...
Then don't post it.
"but the fact they assume the "LOL oh well I found it on the internet, so it's mine to do what I please with" mindset is what's obnoxious."
But that's not what they're doing. If they credit you it's as simple as showing people something.
If they edit, take credit, erase your signature, etc. I am totally backing you on this, but the fact that the simple act of them going to their respective community and going "Hey guys I found this and I like it so I wanted to show you" makes you angry is silly.
"6th grade caliber names"
The sixth grade has become much more vulgar since I was in it, it seems.
