Happy Halloween and so on stay up watch spooky movies, eat candy and rot your teeth out an so on and so on...and now for a scary story muhahahahahahahahahahaha!
I'd like to share my own creepy story. This isn't so much scary as it its more so creepy/unsettling.
The following is a true story that happened to me about 10 years ago when I was 16/17.
I was living at my mother's at one point I slept in the front room (which was near the front of the house on the second floor) on a nice big futon. Mother slept at the room at the other end of the house and my brother slept in the middle room (which is where I sleep today but that's irrelevant). Now my mother had this doll that's about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall. She had it since the 50's and it used to sit in the hallway wedged between a small cedar chest (I think) and a filing cabinet (don't ask) while wearing this weird looking Halloween mask of a person greatly dehydrated. The mask looked too big to wear on the doll so it flopped around each time one would pick it (the doll) up. One Friday night, mother was moving some stuff around and she had the doll in my room, sitting on the right side of a chair. Normally this never bothered me as I never cared much for the doll. I found it weird, but also cool to see a toy from 50 years ago. Anyway I had place my school bag on the chair opposite the doll laying away from the edge of the chair so there was a good 10-11 inches of space between my bag and the floor. (I'd also like to point out at this chair where the doll sat was one of those old-fashioned looking chairs. It sat kinda low to the ground and the seat was quite big like you can lean back in the chair quite a bit. If I had a picture I would show it) I turned off the light and went to bed. I like to say that the light switch is near the door to my room so means I would have to get up and actually walk from my bed to the light switch passing about 4 feet from the doll. Now when I sleep in bed I always sleep facing the wall (Don't know why I just do) I wrapped myself up in my blankets cause it was kinda chilly that night. I wasn't sure how long it was before something happened (maybe 5 mins or 10) I heard a thud. It surprised me for a few seconds, but that all changed very quickly. At this point my heart began to pick up its pace beating faster then normal. I Laid perfectly still scared outta my wits. The only movements I made where those extremely discreet movements you make to have it look like you are sleeping when you're not. I wanted to turn around but I dare not. I knew my bag could not have fallen off on its own. I had it laying almost on its back, facing AWAY from the floor. So the only way it could have fallen is if someone pulled it off. I'd also like to say at this point I did not hear anyone come into my room. So before you say ANYTHING my house is quite old and the floors creek like crazy especially upstairs, so I would have at least heard someone (since I had not quite fallen asleep, I was fully away cause you cannot be asleep and feel *that* scared). Not to mention I always sleep with the door closed, and the door to this room was shut, it takes quite a bit of effort to get it open. Like you have to give it one good push to get it open. After a few moments of worrying myself I slowly turned around (still wrapped up in my blanket.) lifting it up just enough to see. From my dimly lit room, I could see my school bag on the floor right in front of the chair. My door was shut and I was tempted to go turn the light on. Though it meant I would have to pass just a short distance from the doll. After maybe 25 seconds of thinking I got up and made a quick B-line to the light switch. I clicked it on and nearly jumped back to my bed, putting myself at a safe distance from the doll. A few items from my back laid on the floor but nothing huge. I looked at the doll and I approached it carefully, like I was expecting a 50+ year old doll to say something to me (I also wanna say that this doll in question wasn't one of those "Mama" chatty Cathy dolls things). I then quickly grabbed the doll by the arm picked it up and placed it in the hallway where it was once and went back to my room and shut that door tight. I slept with the light on that night and since then the doll has remained in the basement. I do go down there and I see it but I paid no mind to it and just do what I need to do in the basement and leave.
Though I'm sure this was me being and over active/frightened teenage boy but I can tell ya this, that doll creped me out that night and I have 0 interest in sleeping in a room with that damn doll everagain.
