quite the price jump from sketch/flats to colored. ^^;

Well, as far as this little primer goes, the lowest cost applies to a sketch/flat bust-up, while the highest cost applies to a fully shaded, full body shot. I suppose that's a little unclear, so maybe I should change that for clarity.
But even then, shades and shines take me a long time and are also really taxing on my tiny little laptop, and I'd really rather not undercharge myself if I can avoid it. ;A;

Personally I find the shading and highlights to be the fun part. Haaate linearts tho. >.<

In what sort of way do you do shading and highlights?

A lot of different specular layers; shadows, overlays, and the like. And I've really been trying to do a lot more with it all, to give off a nice, smooth, painterly feel. I have a lot to learn in terms of shading and lighting, as it is, but I still like where I am now, regardless of how long it takes. ;w;

Sounds like quite a lot of layers. I only have one for shading and one for highlights on top of the base/flat colors. But I guess that simply fits my style.

yeeaahhhh. Still trying to figure out how to better streamline the process (except I am also too lazy and stupid and unmotivated that I never put aside time for myself to really practice different things). And I also isolate layers so I don't accidentally mess them up or anything, so it gets to be a little congested with folders of layers and layers of folders. ;w;''
