So Close! (or just panting hard?)
No seriously! We're close to launching.
We are doing some finalization of the site design and a little more work on the logo and we're good! Just to get an idea of what we've been up to since July, here's a quick rundown:
- At Anthrocon 2014, we made the rounds recruiting artists to join our team. We passed out over 40 brochures and heard back from a quarter of them. We followed up with others we didn't hear from and got them on board too! Ditching PayPal as a method of receiving payment has encouraged a lot of artists to join.
- Setup an entire cart in eBay's Magento later abandoning it when we saw the plugins for it cost $300-800! Forget that.
- Got
jijix officially on the team and her friend
sineotter that worked on the late Blue Taboo on board then switched to WooCommerce, which is WordPress based and the extensions are all mostly under $100 (some around $20) and it's SO much easier to add products and manage paying commissions to different artists. This also meant adding all the products again *grown*
- Acquired a payment reseller to get online payments up and running that has no qualms with all the sexy art we want to sell. This was a relief. Also, they are much much cheaper than PayPal's fees.
- After test runs with several brands and paper types, settled on getting Ultra Satin paper from RedRiverCatalog.com. This paper was highly recommended by michelelight and she uses the same paper.
- Posted over 300 available prints, most with four different paper sizes or more to be printed on.
So right now we just got to do a few test orders and finalize some of the design. Keep note, once we launch, we will be continually making it a visually pleasing, but more importantly, and easy to browse and search website.
We look forward to serving you all. <3
