So my lap top finally died. I guess when I was working on my trades it just got to overwhelmed. I tried to run my security scans but they never seem to finish and ive waited DAYS for it to finish. Ive turned it off left it for a day or two and have turned it back on for the same results. I cant get on the internet on it for more than five minutes because it just freezes and crashes. It says I have viruses but then it says its taken care of them only for me to have more the next time I turn it on. Ive tried everything and i might just have to wipe it completely but theres not a real computer person who knows what there doing out here in the boonies. Its like its not a requirement for you to know about computers here and its kind of weird considering its NY.
Im restarting the trades (since i did the sketches on paper) on my bfs computer so i apologize for the wait this whole thing has just been very annoying. I have to spend about $800 on a new one or pay $300 just to get this one fixed or $100 to get it wiped but then i would have to pay for all the software to be put back on it which would still be around $300.
My computer is from 2010 so maybe its just time to get a new one since the battery hasnt been working for about a year. (It has to be plugged into the wall constantly or it will die) Im sure if youve been watching me long enough you know about that scare lol
ON THAT NOTE What computers do you guys recommend? I personally do not like dell computers but thats just me haha

Try starting up into Safe Mode by pressing F8 while your laptop is turning on. Enter into Safe Mode with Networking.
If you get this far and boot into Windows, then the next step is to install MalwareBytes. Since Malware like to disable anti-viruses and anti-malware applications, you'd need to install MalwareBytes Chameleon. You can go here to download it: https://www.malwarebytes.org/chameleon/
If you can install that and run it, then it should install MalwareBytes and you should be able to run a scan to detect any malware.
If you've made it this far, you're not done yet. Install and run ADWCleaner. You can download that here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow.....ad/adwcleaner/
Once the scan is finished in there, follow the directions and select everything that it finds. It should be safe to remove it all.
If you've made it thiiiis far, then you should be able to run your computer all fine again. If you've encountered ANY problems during the process of these steps, let me know! Let me know exactly when and where it happens.. also, let me know what you see on the screen at the time.
However this was before I will definitely be sure to try your method!! Thank you so much for the help!
Also I use AVG as an anti-virus software and this whole thing started when I upgraded to AVG2015 since I think it was the trial verison other than the actual software. Any thoughts as to how to get rid of the trial or would I just have to uninstall it completely?
There could be malware preventing MalwareBytes to complete its scan, so you might want to run ADWCleaner first.. Hell, run RKill first [ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ ].
Yeah, do RKill --> ADWCleaner --> MalwareBytes in that order.
I don't use AVG but I can assume that once your trial period runs out, you'd either need to activate it with some kind of activation code or just uninstall it completely. You might need an alternative anti-virus instead, like Microsoft Security Essentials. [If you're using Windows 8, it's already built-in Windows.]
Under Downloads category, enable the option "File download"
Under Miscellaneous category, select Prompt (recommended) for the option "Launching applications and unsafe files"
Under Miscellaneous category, select Prompt (recommended) for the option "Launching programs and files in an IFRAME"
Click on OK
That should let you download stuff again.
2) Is there any data on it you absolutely cannot lose?
3) Do you have a sizable USB stick or portable HDD you could use for data recovery?
4) Are you comfortable with doing a remote support session?
