Spirituality/Religion?

Hey, friends! I've got a question to pick your mind with:
How does spirituality or religion play into your lifestyle? Do you practice a religion? If not, what are your thoughts on it?
Do you hold any strong beliefs that govern your lifestyle?
I was raised a non-denominational Christian. and for all intents and purposes, I tend to consider myself Christian. However, my spiritual journey in this life is pretty unorthodox, and I've grown to become fairly inviting of other influences, cultures, and beliefs into my own practices. I find I'm happier when I'm pursuing spiritual growth, because I find myself observing the beauty around me more, and being thankful more often. I don't believe that religion should be a thing that stresses you out, destroys you, or cuts down you or any other person. I feel it should be a way to make the most out of this life we've been given, while nourishing our souls.
I don't actually speak often about spiritual beliefs, so this is a bit of a first, but I'm curious!
What do you believe or practice? How do you make sense of your spirit?

Whoa i've never actually typed this out to anyone before xD
It sounds like your beliefs have been very enriched by your experiences, and that's cool! Is there a spiritual goal that you have through your practices, or are you more concerned with how your beliefs shape you in the present?
I think there's a kind of understanding or enlightenment that comes from religion. It brings a peace of mind, and makes it easier to accept and appreciate life as it happens. I guess it's kind of a maturity that I'm longing for in my own journey.
And yes, my beliefs have been very enriched and my life has in turn been enriched by my beliefs. Spells to me, are well, a way to ask the Powers (God, the Goddesses/Gods of your pantheon or whomever you choose to believe in) to help in influencing your life in a certain way. In my book, they should only ever be used for positive things, like the spell I did around Yule last year asking for peace of mind this year and basically to have a fulfilling year. We have also done one for friendship and communication, saying what we love about our group but also something we knew needed to be worked on.
I do not have a goal at the moment other than understanding myself and what my Goddess has in store for me or what advice she can give to help myself now and for the rest of my years.
I think understanding yourself, and the way you fit into the world around you is the most fulfilling part of it.
Im not religious.. I dont believe there is a single being that made everything on 7 days.
In my mind it doesnt make sense but i believe in evolution etc.
But i sway towards buddism which essentially teaches you to be your self and treat others with kindness, if everyone were that way then the human race would not be as destructive to its own.
I am spiritual though not towards a religious side but to the elements and earth and all its creatures, everything treated with respect and love.
I dunno if you can make sense of this comment im pretty tired xD
Buddhism is a very interesting, indeed. It's been a few months since I last studied it, but it definitely had me seeing the human condition in a new way.
I've only just begun studying Paganism, but it seems to me that the very core of that religion is the appreciation of nature and the elements, seeing the divine as not a separate entity from us, but rather in and among every animal, plant, and breeze. It might sound a little hippie, but it brings a sort of peace. Like how it's been scientifically proven that being thankful for others in your life brings you happiness--it's no wonder that being able to perceive nature in a way that makes you grateful for it near constantly would bring happiness.
