Get ready.

I plan on giving commissions a try -very- soon. Perhaps later today, or the next day, I will have a first go at them. Expect an incredibly limited amount of slots! And also, this might be the only oppertunity to commission me! Ever!
For years I doubted doing commissions. But perhaps I now have enough ability to my own liking to give it a small try.. How I'm going to organise things I'm not sure yet. Still have a few things to see about.
But before causing any trouble, there's an 80 percent change I will open up. Just be aware of that extra 20 percent that I might pull back my decision in the end.
I'll keep you all informed.

It takes getting used to commissions but after that, it'll actually be kind of fun (or at least it was to me..)
I personally made about around $300 my first year =) I'm proud of this, I fifnt think that I'd make much at all, but yeah, I think you'll do fairly well ^^ Just don't get discouraged when you dont get many at first
Before opening commissions, I suggest you consider your pricing bracket and options of what you will do.
For example...
Pricing on:
- inked page
- colored page
- background (if you would do them, minimal or complex)
- addition characters
- multi-framed comic page
Art Options should include things you will not draw, such as perhaps cub porn, graphic violence, complex machinery / weapons, etc...
The more you clarify what you are willing to do or not do, as well as having a relatively clear pricing scheme, will save you a lot of headaches if a commissioner tries to get you to draw something you don't want to or debate the price.
Also, make it clear if you want payment up front, after a sketch is approved, or after the art is completed. Different artists all use different processes, so making that clear up front saves you from getting the "I want a commission but can't pay you for 2 weeks" type of requests.
Anyway, if you do open up commissions, good luck with it being successful for you. Artwork should be fun as well as profitable, so just try not to stress yourself out over commissions. :)
I don't understand it though. Your skill is some of the best in the known fandom-- hell, the world. Why not make some cash??? 8]
And my commissions are strictly going to be badges. For some odd reason I become connected with my other drawings, and I have some difficulties giving them up. :P
But I can TOTALLY see people dying to buy some art from you. :3 You have some wonderfully clean and awesome works. :) (and when I say clean, I mean to say the way you ink and colour stuff, whether it'd be digital or traditional)
