I've seen that with sketchbooks, auctions seem the best way to go. Starting at about like $20 and then adding in ladder options. (Add so many NSFW pieces if they get over a certain price, or so many marker pieces, or up the amount of characters you are willing to draw throughout the book ect.) But the pricing I think really depends on what you would charge normally for sketches of this quality. Obviously, you don't want to work your tail off for less than your art is worth, so you wouldn't want to start the auction TOO low, in case it doesn't get the attention that you would hope for. Another thing I have seen artists do is to say if the bidding reaches over a certain amount, they will get a larger sketch book.

I'd possibly be interested in bidding on something like that, though. (I'm such a sucker for traditional works.... lol) And I would definitely throw up a journal trying to get you more attention for it, whether I was bidding or not.

I have noticed that a lot of artists want to do sketch books, or like the idea of them a lot, but they don't seem to get a ton of following unless it's an artist who is either rarely open for commissions or someone who is insanely popular. It's a shame, really, because I think it's a really neat idea. I'm glad that was helpful, though!
