Sawnic Boom

Ay, the guy that likes a glass of milk is journaling. *Copy pasted from a rad dude who made a Sonic Boom journal*
I watched Sonic Boom that aired on CN. *Downloaded it from /co/ thread since Turner pulled CN, Boomerang, CNN, Turner Classic Movies, ect from DISH*
I'll admit, its LOOADS better than X and Underground so far.
The opening was Icktastic and a premonition to what you'll get from the first two episodes, animation wise. The water scene in the first ep struck me the most, it didnt even look like water when they were below. No bubbles or nothing.
Current Spongebob had better water animation/play, this was basically a plain blue gradient background while Sonic and Tails floated through space.
Anyway the first ep was kinda poor, BUT it did have a few funny moments. Amy has some...well she kinda reminded me of Lola Bunny from The Looney Toons Show that was canned not long ago. Knuckles isn't a infuriating knucklehead in this one so far, that 'full of yourself' attitude was kinda nice for him. "Knuckles jr" That still made me giggle at that new sidekick scene. The two robots in Boom, they make me miss Scratch and Grounder even more for obvious reasons.
All an all, the first episode was poor for the start of this series, but I liked it enough to watch it again. The end of it was kinda funny too, so I'll remember it fondly. Eggman was best character.
Second episode, it was a lot better than the first, but it wasn't great. Here I thought 'When were they gonna introduce Sticks to the audience?" Well they did, but it wasn't an introduction at all. She was just there in the group of characters we've known for a long while. I assume there will be an episode flashbacking to how she came along, but i'm glad there was a namedrop at least for ol Sticks. The jokes in this had a timing issue that made it fall flatter than the writers hoped or probably cared to fix, the 'Nobody likes you' joke got me to giggle. Now that I was settled in the show, I finally noticed fully how Sonic's voice hit me. It was a lot deeper than I thought it'd ever be. It does fit with his new dull snarky attitude so thats a plus. When the story escalated, Knuckles, tails, Amy and Sticks didn't really do anything spectacular other than bland jokes. I see this show is trying to go the comedy route, but it should work on its timing if they plan to do so.
Again, Eggman was wonderful here, that evil laugh snoring, i'll remember that till I'm in the grave.
So all an all, I like Sonic Boom, hope it'll pick up soon, i'll watch it either way. Besides Steven Universe and Gumbawl, its the only shows from CN i'll download to watch.
*Hopes against all odds that lusciously chubbed Thunderbolt will make an appearance*
